Biography

Ian Tyler Sullivan is an Associate Attorney with St. Onge & Brouillard. Ian's practice focuses primarily on Elder Law, Estate Planning and Probate Matters including Conservatorships and Guardianships. He regularly assists Connecticut residents with creating estate plans unique to their situation with a focus on identification of client goals followed by effective planning to those ends. Ian also engages in planning for Medicaid assistance with Long Term Care, including filing applications for Medicaid benefits with the State of Connecticut. In addition to his Elder Law and Estate Planning practice, lan also handles Land Use matters for clients ranging from preparation of deeds to litigation of Appeals from Land Use Commissions. Finally, Ian handles Corporate Law matters for various clients, including creation of entities, drafting and review of contracts between clients and third-parties, and assistance with corporate transitions and winding up.

Ian received his J.D. from Western New England University School of Law with a Concentration in Transactional Law. He received his B.S. in Criminal Justice Management from Nichols College.

In Law School, Ian was a student-clinician of the WNEU Law Small Business Clinic where he was able to assist real clients in setting up and managing their small businesses and in researching and reviewing trademark matters.

Prior to attending Law School, Ian had the unique experience of working in campus policing Massachusetts. There, as a dispatcher, he gained valuable experience helping people with difficult situations. While there, he developed a deep appreciation for the law as a tool for helping people in their everyday lives.

He is the son of owners of a successful Massachusetts restaurant and as a result, developed a deep appreciation for the hard work of the individual business owner and a desire to help folks like his parents plan for their futures.

Ian is admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts ('21) and the State of Connecticut ('22). He is the Treasurer and Secretary of the Windham County Bar Association. In addition to his roles with the local county Bar, he is an active member of the Massachusetts Bar Association, Connecticut Bar Association, and the National Association of Elder Law Attorneys. Lastly, in support of his community Ian is a Member of the Board of Directors for Northeast Placement Services, Inc. (NEPS).
